  • Abstract
    In this paper a new method based on C-V active contour model is proposed for edge detection of boiler furnace flame image in power plant. Edge extraction of different flame images using C-V model and the classical edge detection operators are compared and analyzed. Experimental results show that the edges extracted by our method are continuous and highlight the interested image features which can be beneficial to the observation of combustion situation and make a good basis for subsequent flame image monitoring in power plant.
