Abstract
THE SECOND-generation Raspberry Pi credit-card sized computer has no less an aspiration than to replace consumer PCs, said Raspberry Pi CEO Eben Upton. Unveiled in early February, the device offers six times the power and twice the memory of the original. It is fitted with a Broadcom BCM2836 application processor with an 800MHz ARM Cortex-A7 quad-core CPU and sold 9,000 units in the first hour after its launch, heralding a promising future. The minds behind the project hope this first major upgrade since Raspberry Pi???s launch in 2012 will open new avenues for the already successful low-cost computing unit.
