Abstract
The safety and efficiency of boiler operation are always determined by the combustion stability of boiler in power plants. In order to acquire the flame states precisely from the boiler in real time, a new boiler flame detecting system based on TMS320DM642 (DM642) is designed, and this paper focuses on the hardware design, the algorithm design based on fuzzy C-means (FCM), as well as the system integration. The detecting system is tested with flame image data retrieved from a burner in a power plant in southeast China, and the results indicate the advantage of efficiency, real time and stability of this system.
