Abstract
A Folded Mach-Zehnder interferometer (FMZI) based on self-collimation effect in a photonic crystal is proposed and investigated. As self-collimated light beams can intersect without crosstalk, this FMZI has smaller dimensions and a more flexible structure than non-folded ones and can work as a wavelength division demultiplexer in photonic integrated circuits.
