Abstract :
Regenerative receiver for 80Gbit/s RZ (NRZ) DPSK data is numerically demonstrated. Demodulated orthogonally-polarized OOK streams are reshaped and reamplified by gaincompression inside polarization-insensitive SOA. The technique is tested over wide range of input phase and amplitude noise. BER at 10−9 shows OSNROOK improvement ≅6dB (5.3dB) for RZ (NRZ) DPSK case.
