Abstract
The main goal of the current work is the investigation of the main steps of the discharge development. It helps to understand how the plasma of sliding discharge influences the air flow around the airfoil. Surface dielectric barrier discharges was investigated in this paper. Discharge propagation at different polarities at high-voltage pulse was investigated. The cathode directed discharge was observed to be more uniform than that on the anode one. Values of energy input in discharges was measured. Gas temperature was restored using emission spectra and increases at discharge phase. It was proved also that there were fast processes leading to non-equilibrium plasma thermalization and the energy release to translational degrees of freedom in microsecond time scale in atmospheric pressure in air.
