Abstract :
In this paper, the SF6 - mobility is calculated in the gas mixtures SF6 -Ar, SF6 -Ne and SF6 -Xe for different SF6 concentrations. These mobilities were calculated from a set of collision cross sections (elastic and inelastic) using an optimised Monte Carlo code. The elastic cross sections were determined from a semi classical JWKB approximation, while the inelastic cross sections (detachment, SF6 - conversion to SF5 - and F-) were taken from the literature. These calculated SF6 - mobilities are compared with those measured with a time-resolved pulsed Townsend technique.
