Abstract :
This paper presents the measured radiation power of high-pressure and large current of SF6 arc. A model gas circuit breaker was particularly invented for arc generation and effective measuring of the radiation power. The PM-tube (Photo Multiplier Tube), LLG (liquid light guides) and ND (neutral density) filter were used for the accepting and transmission of the arc radiation. The arc radiation power has been directly measured with varying the arc current (= 20.0 kA) under SF6 pressure of 5.0 kg f/cm2(G) and arc length of 20.0 mm by using a simplified synthetic test facility with a trigger system.
