Ron Bell biography

Ron started his career as an engineering apprentice and gained experience in the manufacturing and telecommunications sectors before joining the Health and Safety Executive where he became the head of the Electrical and Control Systems Group. He is currently one of the five UK members of the Channel Tunnel Safety Authority (CTSA). Ron is the past chair of the IET Functional Safety Professional Network & chair of the IET Residential Course on Safety Critical Systems. He is a Chartered Engineer and a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology. He chairs one of the two teams responsible for the revision of IEC 61508.
