  • Abstract
    In the system which use virtual memory, when swapping pieces, how to improve overall performance is always the important problem to which the operating system to research. In this paper, we study the resident set problem, including the size of resident set, replacing policy etc., point out that the working set strategy is the valid method to resolve the problem of resident set. According to the study of working set, this paper point out the flaw in working set strategy and PFF method, give out the more valid method to settle this problem, VSWS policy.
