Abstract
A novel high efficiency high integration green converter with on-chip power switch and on-chip current sensing technique was proposed in this paper. By adopting PWM/BURST multi-mode operation, its conversion efficiency is enhanced over the entire load range. Using it, the light-load and standby power dissipation of modern portable products powered by batteries is reduced, which results in prolonging their standby time and battery lifetime. The green converter was designed and fabricated in 1.5 ¿m BCD (bipolar-CMOS-DMOS) technology. The test results show that all expected performances are successfully achieved.
