Abstract
This paper proposes two simplified methods for calculating the extrinsic information of turbo equalization using linear minimum mean squared error (MMSE) criterion. Under the assumption of linear correlation, the extrinsic information for each coded bit can be easily computed by using a simplified channel model. Simulation results show that proposed methods perform very closely to the conventional method.
