Abstract
A Carrier-to-Noise spectral density-based criterion for selecting Binary Offset Carrier signals (both sine and cosine) for the purpose of a cognitive tracking unit is derived in this letter. The paper presents the C/N0 gap between two signals in terms of positioning capability expressed via the Cramer Rao lower bounds on time-delay estimation accuracy.
