Abstract :
The freeway network has been constructed in most of the provinces. However, different with city highways, due to the lack of data collecting device in long distance, information services on freeways are very limited. This paper introduced a Traffic Information System based on the Toll Collection Data (TIS-TCD) on expressway. Based on the toll collection data of Guangdong province, several information services, include on-time information publication, station volume analysis, route section volume analysis, travel time estimating between cities, and travel time estimating between any two toll stations, were developed in this system. Detailed introduction will be illustrated in the following parts.
