Abstract
In this paper, the current-voltage characteristics of a multiple quantum well structure (MQW) has been studied. The current through the structure has been calculated after obtaining the transmission coefficient using quantum mechanical approach. The effect of barrier height asymmetry on the current density through the structure has been investigated. The results indicate suitable designs to obtain high current density.
