Abstract
Under the circumstances of supply chain management, the correct evaluation of supplier strength is the key of selecting suitable partners for core enterprises in the supply chain. Evaluation of supplier strength plays an important role in enhancing competitive power of the whole supply chain. This paper constructed an evaluation index system of supplier strength. It was composed of market competitiveness, technology development capability, economic competitiveness, management innovation capacity and environmental competitiveness. Then the paper introduced fuzzy mathematics theory into supplier strength evaluation and established a supplier strength evaluation model. In the model, weights of indexes were endowed by improved entropy method and this method could reduce the influence of subjective factors to a large extent. The case study shows that the evaluation model is simple and workable. The evaluation model provides a new method for the evaluation of supplier strength.
