  • Abstract
The loss of synchronism is the fact that a power station or a group of power stations functions during a few seconds at a frequency different from the other power stations inter-connected on the same network. This phenomenon occurs in several disturbed situations, like a short-circuit which causes violent disturbances, felt at least strongly by the alternators of the power stations according to the place of the short-circuit. In general, the disturbances are eliminated quickly by safety devices installed on the network. In this paper, we interested on the study of loss of synchronism and the actions of defense to be undertaken.
