Abstract :
The aim of this paper is to give an account of the steps that have been taken for ensuring the Electromagnetic compatibility of GSAT-4 Spacecraft that houses new experimental payloads and mainframe elements. The steps include identification of EMI sources viz., emitters like Transmitters, on-board clocks, SPT plume radiation, DC-DC converters of various power processing units and identification of EMI susceptors viz., low level analog signal devices like sensors, accelerometers of OSDE & VBA, sensitive RF receivers etc. Identification of EMI coupling paths like harness, RF leakage joints etc, generation of guidelines to adopt, proper EMI control technics viz., Grounding, Shielding and Filtering are additional measures taken to minimize EMI and meet EMC specifications.
