Abstract :
The military standard MIL 461 is the base standard which defined a method to test the audio frequency´s susceptibility of electronic devices. It is partly the reference for the aerospace standard DO-160 as well as for the new ISO11452-10 and American automotive standard SAE J1113-2. Since publication of this standards, many car and truck manufacturers, include in their specifications this susceptibility tests for the electronic components. This paper will shortly describe the applicability of CS101, CS109 and RS101. Further, it will describe the test methods and explore the possibilities to accelerate the test. Last but not least, it will describe other test specifications which are based on this military standard and which concern the audio frequency band of 10 Hz to 250 kHz.
