Abstract
Modern civilizations is becoming more and more dependent on electrical and electronic appliances. Lightning induced electromagnetic interference is a major threat for the faithful performance of the electrical and electronic appliances. In this paper, it is attempted to simulate the effect of electromagnetic radiation, due to the direct lightning stroke on the lightning arrestor. The electromagnetic filed at different distance from the lightning conductor has been estimated. Possible simulation results for different rise time are also presented.
