Abstract
We present recent progress and discuss future developments of optoelectronic integrated circuits (OEIC´s). Basic technologies (crystal growth, required components, IC structure and processing, packaging techniques) are reviewed. Examples of OEIC´s (receivers, transmitters, integration of optical and optoelectroniic functions) are given with their respective performance. Future trends are then proposed to stimulate the mass production of OEIC´s.
