  • Abstract
In this paper, the cross-section image of the wood fiber air filter element (WFAFE) is obtained by the digital camera linked with a microscope, simultaneously, the best threshold method is adopted to analysis the hole and background of image, then the hole parameters of WFAFE, such as hole ratio, hole ratio uniformity, hole equivalent diameter, hole distribution and shape factor, all can be obtained. The sample hole ratio obtained by image detection is close to that by theoretical calculation, and the mean absolute error is -1.24%. It has been found this method is suitable for the qualitative analysis and evaluation of WFAFE hole ratio, and its advantages are lower investment, higher intelligent analysis, and stronger statistical calculation. Therefore, it is a very promising approach for detection the WFAFE hole ratio.
