  • Abstract
In the face of world-wide competition and cooperation, specialty English becomes professional´s hindrance in non-English speaking country. Bilingual teaching, suggested by Ministry of education of China, requires instructors to combine English and mother tongue as teaching languages in professional teaching. The deficiency of competent instructors and available teaching resources hampers the implementation of bilingual teaching in Chinese higher education institutions. In this paper, we firstly introduced the current situation and embarrassment of bilingual teaching in China. Secondly, we proposed a new approach for assisting bilingual instructor and developing teaching resource. The key idea of this approach is synthesizing English speech synchronized with the relevant English text using text-to-speech technology. Lastly, we introduce the utilization cases of this approach in two universities of China. This approach could overcome the pronunciation defect of students and some instructors and deficiency of teaching resources in a certain degree. This approach is also appropriate to other non-English speaking countries.
