  • Abstract
    The PCC pavement built on a large scale in the whole country last century has reached service life basically till now. They need overhauling or renovating. In order to lower costs and resume the demand for every function of use on pavement, more and more practices are to pave the AC pavement on the old PCC pavement. Before the old pavement is added and paved they should be tested and appraised, especially the fast rational appraisal to the surplus intensity of the PCC pavement. And it have important directive significance in the overlay design on the PCC pavement. This paper combine the research project " Research on the Application of the Large Stone Base" and the field project-the reconstruct highway between Jiaozhuo and Boai. The appraisement of old PCC pavement is obtained through the PFWD. And it is comparable with the BB. It is found that there are good relationship between the two kinds of method. So, it is a new method to adopt PFWD to appraise the surplus intensity of old PCC pavement.
