The traditional teaching in the computer teaching generally emphasizes the theory, while paying little attention on the cultivation of students´ ability to solve practical problems. Consequently, to cultivate students´ practical ability in computer teaching is an urgent problem. Case teaching is kind of heuristic teaching method, which focuses on the development of the students´ practical ability. On the basis of the compilation of case teaching materials, the design of teaching process, the choice of teaching case, assignment arrangement and merit rating, this paper introduces the writer´s experience and practice in carrying out the case teaching method, and furthermore discusses the significance of raising students´ practical ability in computer teaching.
