Abstract :
Skid resistance of the new pavement generally meet the requirement of the traffic, but will gradually deteriorate in traffic service, the rehabilitation is acquired when the skid numbers lower than the typical threshold, To predicate accurately the deteriorating skid resistance of the pavement on the entire design life cycle, the friction deteriorating test of the asphalt mixture was performed firstly at different tire pressure; and then bring forward the prediction method for the new pavement based on the friction deteriorating equation of the asphalt mixture taking into account the affection of axis and wheel; based on the actual traffic volume data the deteriorating skid resistance performance versus the time was predicted, It shows a good agreement to the actual test data comparison, It demonstrate that the method can be used to predict skid resistance performance.
