  • Abstract
Control Plane offers many advantages to Carriers as part of their network administration efforts . To realize these advantages, Carriers must find ways to minimize impacts to their operations. Strategies toward operationalizing include: minimize downstream impacts by adding inventory back to OSS; selective introduction of a control plane by maintaining the ability to support mixed networks; selective introduction of specific control plane features such as dynamic restoration. Control plane advantages across network and business organization boundaries can be realized through integration of management planes.
