Abstract :
A codec is designed to meet GSM specifications and will be used in the Alcatel handportable terminal. The circuit includes the digital signal processing filters as well as the analog front end. Direct connection with microphone and earpiece are possible without the use of active external components. The GSM codec is fabricated in an 1.2 μm Cmos technology on a 14 mm2 die area.
