Abstract
A three channel micropower CMOS circuit for a programmable hearing aid is presented. It allows the compensation of even difficult hearing impairments by dividing the frequcency range in three channels and adjusting the dynamic losses separately. Thus, an individual hearing aid can be programmed. The circuit consists of two RC-active antialiasing filters, a multi-rate SC filter bank, several offset compensated SC amplifiers, three compression amplifiers, a post filter, and a digital control and I/O part. The implementation of the filter bank and the compression amplifiers is described in more detail. The circuit operates with a single 1.3 V battery and the current consumption is only 1 mA.
