Abstract :
New technological advances allow the realization of isolated D-MOS power transistor, bipolar and C-MOS signal structures on the same chip. Called Multipower B.C.D. this technology has been used to realize a switching H bridge control system for DC and stepping motor (60V, 5A), able to work at high frequency (300 KHz) and with high efficiency. As the power dissipation is only 1.5W when the output current is 1.5A the device can work at this level in a standard D.I.P. package with great advantages in terms of cost (no heatsink) and compactness.
