Abstract
A subjective speech quality evaluation method is proposed as a complement to the existing methods. In the proposed method, a browser-server structured system and a set of procedures are designed for collecting subjective opinions from a large number of subjects through the internet. A user qualification mechanism is set up to mask unreliable subjects. The same task of degrade mean opinion score (DMOS) experiment is performed both by this new method and the traditional way. The experiment results show that, based on the large number of subjects and the user qualification mechanism, the new method can reach reliable test result compared with the traditional way.
