Abstract :
An efficient stimulated Brillouin scattering slow light system based on a highly nonlinear photonic crystal fiber is presented. Up to 30 ns time delay could be achieved by using 70-m long fiber under the pump power 101 mW. The figure of merit (FOM) of this kind fiber is 0.0035 dB/mW/m, which is about 4.8 times larger than the single mode fiber (SMF).
