  • Abstract
In this paper, the using of a flying capacitor multicell inverter in a series active power filter for voltage quality improvement is proposed and simulation results are provided to remark its capabilities. The multicell inverter has advantages over a PWM inverter such as improved bandwidth, low switching ripple, and small dv/dt, so it is a good choice for sensitive loads. The series active power filter using flying capacitor multicell inverter is used to compensate voltage disturbances and voltage sag and swell. Simulation results using matlab/simulink are depicted and comparison has been made to confirm the effectiveness of multicell configuration.
