Abstract :
Computerized technology is increasingly becoming a powerful tool that has deeply influenced the development of educational testing. With aims to discuss the many benefits of electronic test in assessment practice, this paper is intended to give a brief review of what E-Assessment can offer for the measurement of people´s skills, knowledge and competencies in terms of foreign language teaching and learning, with a particular focus on (1) test development, especially historical perspectives embodied in development of CALT; (2) some major concerns about the test development, test delivery and scoring system; (3) the challenge of computer testing systems in the future area of CALT.
