Abstract :
This paper studies the effects of antenna layout on Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) system capacity. First, a spatial antenna channel model based on Jakes fading model with the power azimuth spectrum (PAS) is introduced and the expression of spatial correlation is given. Then the numerical results for the ergodic MIMO capacity under several typical antenna layout is simulated which indicates that the circular arrangement is probably the best layout and the linear arrangement the worst in sense of ergodic capacity.
