Abstract
In the process of planning, design, construction and maintenance of a building, sharing same information resources is very important. IFC standard is the open data representation and exchange international standard of building product and it is the foundation for civil engineering software to exchange and share information. PLIB (ISO 13584) is an international standard about how to express and exchange computer-interpreted data of standard part library. A building component library is designed based on IFC and PLIB standard. The library can provide the information of building components from different suppliers and it is helpful for the information sharing and exchanging in the building life cycle.
