Abstract
Taiwan´s experiences in promoting third generation (3G) wireless Internet access service are interest to international practitioners and researchers. This study applies the logistic, Gompertz, and external influence econometric models to explore diffusion patterns of 3G wireless Internet service adoption in Taiwan, one of the leading countries in the mobile telephone context. Our findings indicated that the Gompertz model best describes the 3G Wireless Internet Service diffusion pattern and (2) the external influence model appears to poorly fit the data. Findings are able to provide crucial practical implications for both scholars and telecommunication managers.
