  • Abstract
A successful IT Company is characterized by its ability to put the right information in front of the right decision-makers at the right time while concerns about security issues. These objectives require a strategy for reducing the costs, minimizing the risks, and enabling an agile management system. But existing solutions often focus on the unsustainable infrastructures that consumes IT resources with just maintaining systems with limited optimization perspective. Storage Virtualization technology is one of the effective solutions which simplifies Enterprise Data Management (EDM) with a unified architecture that increases flexibility, scalability and security. Moreover, preparing the IT organizations to regain control and focus on meeting the business needs is essential. In this research we have proposed a comprehensive architecture for storage virtualization which has more focuses on data management challenges in the area of data protection, storage optimization and IT infrastructure policies. Then we have implemented our proposed architecture on a SAN as a prototype model and evaluated the performance indexes in comparison with a native SAN system.
