  • Abstract
    Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) is an effective technique for combating multipath fading and for high-bit-rate transmission over wireless channels and it is extensively used in modern wireless systems to support high performance bandwidth-efficient multimedia services. The accuracy, robustness and easy application of the channel estimation scheme are important for the wireless broadband multi-carrier OFDM systems and are crucial to the performance of the overall wireless broadband multi-carrier OFDM system in terms of the symbol error rate. In this paper, the robust channel estimation scheme and the correlative design problem are considered for the wireless broadband multi-carrier OFDM system under harsh fading channels. The simulation results of the wireless broadband multi-carrier OFDM system performance based on the proposed channel estimation scheme are provided.
