Abstract :
In this paper, we try to figure out the most important research efforts in the network system survivability field from an evolution approach. After presenting the survivability research in WDM, MPLS and SONET network, etc, we then move to the wireless network survivability which we think is the most important part in the next few years and the direction of future research area.
