Abstract
Quantitative service differentiation can provide network operators with the “tuning knobs” for adjusting the quality spacing between different traffic classes and it is convenient for users to choose an appropriate service according to their requirements and the costs. A loss proportional differentiated Assured Forwarding service model is proposed in this paper, and we describe an implementation scheme based on active queue management mechanism. The simulation results show that the proposed implementation scheme based on maximum drop probability adjustment of RED can achieve proportional loss differentiation approximately between different Assured Forwarding classes under heavy load.
