Abstract
In this paper the design of a high power divider for both WLAN bands around 2.4 GHz and 5.5 GHz is presented which is suitable for testing of electromagnetic interference. The concept is based on a waveguide resonator, the geometrical dimensions of which are designed such that two resonant frequencies of exciting modes correspond to the center frequencies of the respective WLAN-bands. The waveguide structure can cope with high powers over 200 W and allows a power splitting of already amplified testing signal. Consequently, high field strengths can simultaneously be provided at two or several locations for example in an aircraft where the grounding time, thus the testing time, is limited. Measurements with a network analyzer show a good agreement with simulations. The power divider has also been successfully tested in realistic EMI-testing setup with typical testing field strengths up to 100 V/m.
