Abstract :
A detailed study of the nonlinear couplers based on Ag stripes is presented. The output characteristics of the couplers are analyzed and the switch effect is found. The LR-SPP optical switch has been investigated at λ = 0.633μm, 1μm, 1.55μm, demonstrating the feasibility of LR-SPP-based all-optical switches for operation in the very broad wavelength range. The critical optical power p of nonlinear optical switch is low. All the simulations in this paper were performed by using the full-vector finite-element method.
