Abstract
The paper presents UWB dipole/monopole antennas, whose radiating elements as well as feeding circuits were already optimized in two separate processes. As radiating elements, a wide range of dipole shapes were used: basic (elliptic, rectangular and rhombus dipoles), shapes based on the expert design (rectangular dipole with triangular or elliptical feeding basis) and also fully optimized ones. In addition, the microstrip and coplanar lines were used for both, the dipole feeding and feeding with balun transformer. The time domain characteristics (namely the distortion of transmitted impulses and the dispersive characteristic) as well as the antenna matching are evaluated and discussed.
