Abstract
In order to determine a plane wave representation of the electric field within a reverberation chamber (RC), a complete high resolution method based on Root-MUSIC algorithm is developed. Decorrelation procedures are applied to the correlation matrix to adapt this method to the RC case, where plane waves are highly correlated. This technique leads to a correct estimation of the number, directions-of-incidence (DOA), amplitudes and phases of all planes waves. Using electric field cartographies issued from FDTD simulations, accurate results are obtained in the case of an RC with a fixed stirrer. By moving the stirrer we demonstrate that whereas DOA are slightly affected by the stirrer rotation, the plane wave powers are strongly sensitive to the stirrer position at low frequency.
