Abstract
A new ultrawideband sensor for breast microwave imaging is presented in this paper. The design consists of a tapered slot antenna loaded with dielectric and fed by a transverse microstrip balun. The sensor is designed to come into contact with the breast skin and to be independent to electrical property variation of the immersion medium. Simulation shows that it can keep good performance across 1 to 12 GHz for different liquid conductivity and permittivity.
