Abstract
A compact multiband antenna using dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) is investigated in this paper. This antenna operates at three bands for different wireless applications. In order to improve the quality and reliability of wireless links, diversity techniques can be applied. To accomplish this goal, two antennas are integrated side by side on a same PCB card, that would allow to reconfigure the radiation pattern at all three frequency bands. Moreover, the effect of ground plane dimensions is investigated and shows that the antenna matching bands are not affected by these dimensions. Thus, this antenna structure is a good candidate to be integrated in most of mobile handsets.
