Abstract
Since many years, investigations on receiving antennas have received renewed attention. One knows that a receiving antenna of arbitrary shape and size scatters electromagnetic energy as a result of currents induced on it by an incident field. Moreover, when a load is connected to the antenna terminal, part of incident electromagnetic energy is converted into electric energy which represents the received or absorbed energy through the load. The absorbed and scattered energies are of particular interest because they can be used to decide if an antenna is a scatterer or an absorber depending on the type of application needed (RFID, RADAR, MSA, etc.).
