Abstract :
This paper gives an overview on different antenna frontends for radar applications. Some properties of the showed systems are explained in more detail to present different ways to fulfill special system requirements. For example, the following system functionalities of different frontends are analyzed: ▪ radiation pattern synthesis ▪ sidelobe level ▪ first sidelobe reduction ▪ phase center synthesis ▪ phase difference synthesis The paper will first present an overview on some different antenna frontends for radar applications. The most interesting details from the antenna system point of view will then be explained. A realized antenna frontend demonstrator will be presented.
