Abstract :
In this paper an equivalent circuit-model for the monopole four-square array antenna on a finite ground plane (chassis), considering both the mutual coupling between antennas and coupling between each antenna and Chassis, is designed. With the help of this circuit-model, we then design a Decoupling and Matching Network (DMN) for the monopole four-square array antenna. By comparing the simulation results of this equivalent circuit-model with monopole four-square array antenna results, a conclusion is drawn that this model is reliable for frequencies less than 1.5 fc. The simulation results using DMN also prove the correct operation of designed DMN at fc.
